Ju Jitsu Rank Advancement - November 2010

Karate Black Belt Testing

We have three students testing for black belt ranks over the next two weeks.

Please come by to watch the rank tests, regardless of your age or art.

Karate black belt testing is uncommon. We have 2 students testing for the rank of Shodan (1st degree black belt). After this, we will not have another Shodan candidate for approximatley 3 years!!


Tetsuya Kawakita: testing for Shodan Thursday October 28th at 7:30pm

Mark Fidelio: testing for Shodan Thursday November 4th at 7:30pm


We have one student testing for the rank of Sandan (3rd degree black belt). The last time someone tested for this rank was 9 1/2 years ago in 2001! The rank of Sandan is a very big deal, as it is the rank at which a student becomes a teacher and earns the title of Sensei.

Lil' Dragons & Youth Karate Class Schedule Adjustment

Due to the current very high enrollment in our Lil’ Dragons program, it has become necessary to make certain changes in our class schedule.


The Lil’ Dragons class schedule is now as follows:

Wednesdays: Beginners 4:30 – 5:00 Advanced 5:00 – 5:30

Fridays: All Dragons 4:30 – 5:00

Saturdays: Beginners 11:30 – 12:00 Advanced 12:00 – 12:30


Youth karate classes will henceforth meet on Saturdays from 10:30 – 11:30am. This is the only change for youth karate.
